There are a few things that are MUSTS and there are a few things that are OPTIONS. Those options are nice to have, but not absolutely necessary.
Your Website Kit comes as a complete website with everything you need to customize it. But you will still need a domain and hosting (we do offer Website Maintenance & Hosting plans.)
We also recommend some additional tools to help you grow your business. Here are lists of what you need, and the additional tools we recommend.
These are absolutely necessary:
Domain - This is what "companyname.com" people type into their browser to find your website.
Hosting - This is where all your website files are stored.
We offer several Website Maintenance plans that include hosting. This is a great money-saving & time saving option. We'll take care of your website like it was our very own. We'll keep everything up to date so you never have to worry about getting hacked. And if you do get hacked, we'll have you covered. It also gets you super fast, optimized hosting so Google gives you those ranking points.you'd like us to host your website and take care of the maintenance for you. You'll be given the option to add the plan of your choice to your order at checkout.
Don't like that option and want to get hosting on your own? If thats the route you'd like to take, then we strongly encourage you to purchase SiteGround hosting. Whatever you do, stay away from the cheap, mega-hosting companies. While they seem great and promise the world, they tend to run slower, tech support is terrible and they tend to nickle-and-dime you to death. (we see you GoDaddy!)
If you decide to go with another hosting company we will do our best, but cannot promise we can publish your site for you on other hosting platforms. If we run into a glitch with your hosting company while trying to clone your site, we will contact you to discuss other hosting options.
Email / Contact Relationship Management service (CRM)- this is what allows you to store client's and prospect's emails. It allows you to send them emails, either through an autoresponder or a campaign blast email. We recommend ActiveCampaign for your CRM (we use them too!). It has the most useful features and is affordable. Some clients start off with MailChimp, and that's fine. But you'll soon see that it just doesn't have as many features as ActiveCampaign, but it is a great program for beginners.
Online scheduling software - Goodbye endless back and forth emails! Goodbye double bookings! Synch it to your calendar and let your clients and prospects choose their own appointment time. There are a lot of options but we prefer BookLikeABoss and Calendly because both platforms synch to your calendars (never miss your kid's soccer game again!) and are super user-friendly. These platforms also integrate with ActiveCampaign and Mailchimp through the use of Zapier, a tool that helps different apps talk to each other.
Google Analytics - Track the visitors on your website so you can see what pages they are going to, if your traffic is what you think it is and see if your conversion rate is going up. This gives you the data you need to know if you need to make adjustments and if so, where. Free!
Facebook Pixel - Think you'll be doing Facebook advertising at any point? Then you need to have the Facebook Pixel installed on your website. (We even have a video to show you how!) This lets you track people who visit your website so you can retarget them with ads later. Free!
